I was under Mr Simon Tordoff who was excellent.

Regrettably it was not he (in consultation with me) that decided the potency of my medical cannabis, but an algorithm run by their admin department

Patient Service
Rated 1.0 out of 5

Dreadful. Admin staff are boorish, talk over you and do not do as asked.

Despite numerous complaints about being bombarded with emails to reorder (days after I had placed an order, and for weeks on end afterwards) nothing was done.

Various excuses were made, instead of addressing the issue.

My complaint about my prescription being left to an algorithm was only dealt with by requesting a Medical Consultation and the consultant was not best pleased to see that my prescription was left to a NON MEDICAL OPINION (an algorithm).

When I gave up and decided to leave, there was no attempt to find out why – instead for several weeks they refused to answer emails for a Discharge Letter. When I phoned to ask for one, the person said, “Ok, I’ll do it. Bye,” and put the phone down on me. I was amazed. But I did not get my Discharge Letter without a full on shout-athon a week later.

There is no longer anything professional about the Admin Department at CB1. This is such ashame because it didn’t used to be like this.

I remember the COO Anabel Sharma dealing with a Holiday covering letter in a few hours one bank holiday weekend once. Sadly she leaves it up to incompetent, intemperate, poorly trained staff who couldn’t care less.

Website Experience
Rated 3.0 out of 5

It’s ok. The App has been abandoned and they have a new website experience which I can’t comment on, because I left at the time of the “upgrade.”

What actually matters is what’s behind it though.

The consultants – 5⭐

The admin 0⭐

Payment system 4⭐ Easy to use, but not all the usual payment merchants or gateways supported.

Prescription process 0⭐ – If you think you can order a 4 week prescription without being hassled after a few days to reorder, forget it.

If you believe a 4 week prescription should last 4 weeks, don’t, unless you don’t mind a mindless algorithm deciding to change your script next time you reorder.

Availability of medication 2⭐- You’re tied to one pharmacy, unlike other companies and don’t expect your medication to always be available.

Communication
Rated 1.0 out of 5

For all the reasons above and more (they never return calls or emails either) don’t expect too much.

Awfull Admin Department who couldn’t care less.

They have no idea how their own processes work, suggesting very poor training and poor recruitment of inappropriate persons.

Billing Transparency
Rated 4.0 out of 5

As with all of these companies, don’t expect the price you think you’re paying will be what you eventually pay.

The first time, because no-one told me, I was surprised for a £75 bottle of medication to end up costing me well over £100. They are clear about postage costs though.

Waiting Times
Rated 3.0 out of 5

Not much to say here.

I haven’t needed very much to speak to a consultant as I have tolerated my medication very well, and CB1 don’t suggest you need to contact them for a consultation anyway, so I suppose that’s why it’s relatively easy to speak to a consultant – though not always the same one.

Although I was supposed to have a video consultation, I never did.

CB1 Medical wrote recently to inform patients that they had been compromised by a Data Security breach which basically stripped patient information except medical and payment information.

They at least informed us.

I’ve been a cannabis patient since November 2024 and never once had an issue being left without my medication until now. CB1 made it so I was out of medication from Friday till Wednesday because the oil was not in stock. Going without for five days has affected my mental health badly.

Patient Service
Rated 1.0 out of 5

The admin staff have shown no understanding. They act like they have more rights than the patient. Instead of helping me when I was struggling without medication, they hung up on me every couple of minutes. Zara needs a special mention here. She told me I had never spoken to a manager when I had, and when I explained I would shout just so she knew the difference, she hung up the phone and got me discharged.

Communication

Managers don’t call back and don’t solve problems. Instead, they discharged me for raising complaints about being left without medication. The pharmacy manager managed to speak with me a number of times, so why can’t the admin managers do the same when they are part of the same business. The director apparently even told them not to discharge me, but they did it anyway.

The way it feels, the admin team are only here to collect money and not to offer the service patients need.

I was left completely without medication for five days, from Friday till Wednesday, while the pharmacy held back my prescription. This has never happened to me before and it caused serious issues.

Well there was that very public data leak last month, so I was already considering moving clinics but all of this tipped me over the edge.
