Clinic FAQs
Yes, Lyphe Clinic is legitimate and legal. It is one of the first medical cannabis clinics to begin treating patients in the UK, and operates with experienced doctors in the field of medical cannabis.
To qualify for Lyphe treatment plans, individuals need to specify the type of condition they are looking to treat, which could range from pain, neurological, to psychiatric conditions. It’s required that the condition has been previously diagnosed by a medical professional, and that the individual has been prescribed medicine or therapy for it. However, medical cannabis cannot be prescribed to those diagnosed with psychosis or schizophrenia. These criteria align with UK guidelines which recommend patients to have tried conventional treatments before opting for medical cannabis.
Update 24/11/23 : This morning reports started to appear on Reddit and social media that Lyphe Group had entered administration. While no official announcement has been made in the Gazette, the company has responded to discussions on social channels stating that patient care will continue for the immediate future.
User Reviews
Dr’s only interested in making money. Admin staff are incompetant and rude.
Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Rude, un-empathetic and incompetent staff. I made a complaint which wasn’t even acknowledged for 2 months!
Webchat for clinic makes you wait sometimes for over an hour and then when you do get through the advisors ignore you.
Appalling communication, they spam you with emails wanting money but as soon as you raise any concerns they ignore you.
Very over priced compared with any other clinics
If you do ever get through on the phone it always take at least an hour and then you’re told there’s no one available to help you.
Massive delays in getting medication and no way of telling what they have in stock
Advisors frequently break GDPR and mention private details without confirming who they are talking with.
The medicine was fine, it was good quality and it helped my pain & depression.
But they left me without medication for weeks time and time again so I’ve quit and left them. Rather save my money and keep dealing with my pain than go through withdrawal with bad customer service. Wasting time with this company. They’ve no compassion for people.
Doctors on appointments I cannot fault, doctors were friendly and listened to me.
Other staff rude, no care at all.
Awful, soon as they’ve changed to lyphe is gone to absolute crap to be honest. Trying to find out where my prescription is , trying get info or to speak to someone is hard.
Was told every three months I would need an appointment after chasing up for my 3rd prescription (no communication as usual.) but they then said my prescription was rejected and I needed a follow up after 2nd prescription! That’s another £50! Didn’t even let me know I had to chase them again.
No communication at all. Only see how much the medication costs when they are asking for the money.
Also paying for your prescription doesn’t guarantee your medication is on its way either, they can take your money and leave you for weeks.
Sometimes when they decide you need a follow up you could be waiting weeks to get an appointment.
Follow up care is non existent. Trying get repeats is not easy. Plus they can change your medication without asking.
I hope one day this is available on the nhs as these people are just wanting your money and that’s it. Being disabled I don’t have a lot of money this medication needs to be available to everyone with complex medical conditions.
I don’t really know but it would be no surprise if it doesn’t maintain privacy and confidentiality of patients.
Dr Angeliki Papastefanou is the ONLY good thing about Lyphe. I hope she leaves because they don’t appreciate her. I had a positive experience with most of the medical staff I had dealings with except for Dr Iain Pryde who decided he’d change the contents of my prescription to the wrong strains which triggered a month-long episode of fatigue worse than I’ve ever experienced since being diagnosed with chronic widespread pain & fatigue 11 years ago.
Patient service is unprofessional and incompetent and they rarely read correspondence before replying. They also force patients into chasing up medical care, appointments & prescriptions to the point of being left for weeks at a time without medication or care. They don’t process complaints. I’ve been waiting since April to speak with the complaints resolution officer. The majority of those on Live Chat & email responses jump between copying & pasting scripted responses & a passive-aggressive communication style full of spelling errors, grammatical mistakes & misinformation.
They “updated” the patient account/dashboard area of the website and neglected to add any of the doctors to the “create appointment” system. According to an interaction I had with a patient service agent called Hamza, the information on the “complaints policy” page provides the wrong contact information for making complaints.
I had a positive experience with most of the medical staff except for Dr Iain Pryde who decided he’d change the contents of my prescription without ever meeting me or consulting with the doctor I was seeing. The majority of follow-up communication is entirely inadequate.
I impulsively signed up for their new subscription service earlier this year in the hopes of saving the 100s they were advertising I’d save on an annual basis, but it just hasn’t been worth the stress when they’ve been taking an average of 4 weeks to process prescriptions.
Waiting times have become ridiculous since the beginning of 2023. They have left me for weeks at a time without medication, leaving me to chase it up, patient services ignoring emails and pretending they’ve replied when they haven’t.
Before 2023 follow-up care was magnificent. I have been with and stayed with Lyphe (previously TMCC) since 2021 because I didn’t know there was other options available until after I signed up for their monthly sub fees, which I plan to cancel regardless of cancellation fees, I’d rather go into debt than stay with Lyphe any longer than I have to.
I haven’t had any problems, but I have a friend who was sent someone else’s patient summary and when they phoned Lyphe to inform them, were told to “just chuck it in the bin and not to worry about it”
